It started in my dad’s garage.

For years, we’d have the same conversation every time I visited: “We really need to pick a weekend and tackle this.” But between work, busy schedules, and everything else going on, we never got around to it. Weeks turned into months, and months turned into years.

I’d seen this before. Growing up, we reorganized our garage more times than I can count. We’d spend entire weekends sorting through things, moving boxes, and getting everything back in order. It would look great for a while. Then things would pile up again, and eventually we’d be right back where we started.

One day, my dad was telling me how frustrating it was to find things he needed for work. The garage had become this ongoing project hanging over his head, and neither of us wanted to spend another weekend dealing with it.

We’re not lazy people. We knew it needed to get done. But knowing that didn’t make it any easier to find the time or want to get started.

As someone with a demanding professional schedule and a business background, I had become ruthless about where my time went. I knew exactly how valuable weekends were. And I knew I had no interest in spending them knee-deep in boxes, making hundreds of small decisions about things that did not actually matter to me.

And I figured we probably weren’t the only ones who felt that way.

Most people would love to have a clean, organized garage. Getting there is the hard part. You have to pull everything out, decide what stays, figure out where it all goes, and deal with everything you don’t want anymore. It’s a lot of work, and it’s easy to put off when you already have a full plate.

So I got a small team together, including close friends and my fiancé. We set aside a day, and completely organized my dad’s garage.

That was the moment CleanSlate took shape.

I wanted to build a service for people like us. People who want their garage back, but don’t want the project taking over their weekends. Someone to help work through the decisions, handle the heavy lifting, and put a system in place that makes sense for how they actually use the space.

We don’t sell organization. We eliminate the problem entirely. We do it fast. We do it completely. And we remove as much effort and decision-making from the homeowner as possible.

CleanSlate means exactly what it sounds like. A fresh start. Wiping away years of clutter and indecision and giving people back a space they can actually use. Not someday. Not over a series of weekends. In one decisive shot.

For me, the goal is pretty straightforward: you should be able to walk into your garage, find what you need, and use the space. It shouldn’t be a source of stress every time you open the door.
